first day of kindergarten

E had his first day of Kindergarten yesterday. He was so excited and not once did he say he was nervous or scared, but Matt gave him a blessing in the morning and his comment was "Now I feel much Braver!"

When we got to school they started with all the kids in a circle, some of the parents stayed with the kids, but I knew it wouldn't help E or me to stay, but I sat down behind him for just a second and he said "Mom can I just have one more hug?" And he was good for me to leave. He is such a great kid I honestly have missed him already.

So a few people called to ask him how his first day was and he told them that he didn't learn anything he just had fun He told me he just couldn't remember but what ever they did do, it sure wore him out.... it didn't take long after getting in the car before this happened.

In conjuncture with the first day of school I have another give away from MyBlogSpark, and this time it is from Yoplait. We eat ALOT of go-gurts at our house. We especially like them frozen like a popsicle, it's a nice healthy snack. I was able to get this fun prize pack from Yoplait that has all sorts of cool back to school stuff in it. My kids just can't get enough of the pen fan especially. So to celebrate going back to school post a comment about what you like best about the first day/week of school. For me I like getting organized...I loved getting my calendar for each of my college courses and putting them, color cordnated, on to one calendar each semester. I did that some with my kids and google calendar this year. Seriously it thrills me... I know I am a dork. So share with me what you like best by Sept. 10th and one of you will win this.

There is a cool program that could get my son's school $500,000 please go and vote for his school, each person can vote 5 times for his school and this can really make a difference for all my kids!

New Nephew

My sister in law Brooke and my brother Alan welcomed a new baby into the world at 12:24am this morning and I got to be there with them. Many of you might remember that I did Hypnobirthing for my last baby , things were amazing, but not exactly what we planned. Brooke had a really bad first birth experience and after using Hypnobirthing I told her about it and wanted her to try it this time around. Can I tell you she was AMAZING!!!!! She was working on the baby coming on and off for two days now and progressing slowly. She relaxed and let her body do the work for her. At 11:05 last night she was watching a movie with her Mom and Alan and her water broke. Instantly everything changed, the baby was coming NOW!
They had asked me to be there to support her birth because I knew what she wanted and could clearly communicate that to the nurses and staff. Well really there wasn't time to do much with that but Brooke stood up for what she wanted and exactly 25 minutes after getting to the hospital Baby Boy Cannaday came into this world with a "anticlimactic End" as the midwife said. In other words it was perfect, NO screaming and yelling, no harsh words, or anger, just a little panting and this beautiful baby was here! Brooke did kept herself relaxed and comfortable and he entered the world exactly as Heavenly Father intended all his spirits to arrive, quietly and comfortable.
I am so grateful I was there to witness this spirit come into this world, so peacefully and lovingly.

Greek Goddess

Yoplait and MyBlogSparks gave me the chance to feel like a Greek Goddess for a little while this week. They sent me out this great package of things that help you relax and feel like a goddess, plus coupons to go get some of their new Greek Yogurt for free. They are also tying this into the new Clash of the Titans movie that is coming out soon.

I have to admit that we eat A LOT of yogurt at our house, (almost every morning for breakfast), so I was excited to try a new kind. The only thing that I don't like about this yummy treat in the morning is that I get hungry again soon after and need to eat something else. Well this was NOT the case with this supper tasty new kind of yogurt. It felt like I was eating something hardier but tasted GREAT then, I wasn't hungry again until lunch and let me tell you I can't remember the last time that happened.
I tried the vanilla honey and the blue berry. If you are looking for something that is as sweet as your typical flavored yogurt you are looking in the wrong place, but I found the fact that is wasn't so artificially sweet and tasted like...well...yogart, to be very refreshing and fulfilling.
I have to admit that I will be headed back to this end of the yogurt isle again this week to get me some more!
AND Yoplait and MyBlogSparks is letting me give away another package like mine to someone who adds a comment here to my post. So the question I ask you is...How do you find the inner goddess in you?
Oh and I almost forgot, here is a link to a coupon for $.30 off so you can try it today, and everyone is a winner.

For me to remember

So this post doesn't have any cute pictures to go with it yet (they are on Matt's phone and I am too tired to try to get them off) but I wanted to at least document the cute moments that have happened in the last 24 hours.
So last night I got the boys to bed but S didn't want to go down yet and I am not consistent about making her go if she's not acting ready, so I let her stay up a little longer than usual and it was worth it. A few minutes after her and I sat down she crawled down off my lap and headed over to Matt who was on lying on the floor. she got right in his face bent down and kissed him on the nose with a noise and everything. I was so super cute. Then she came over and told me in her little way that I needed to give Daddy kisses too, so I did and then she told me to go back and sit down, and she crawled back over and gave him more noisy kisses. Those moments are worth all the times I get up with her every night!
Then we have had some trouble with E and whining all the time and boy today was no different, after dinner he thought he just HAD to have a bath. Usually this wouldn't be a problem, but we were cutting it close to bed time and he really NEEDED to go to bed on time tonight, he was so whinny! Matt had just got home from the gym so he was going to take a shower so I asked if he wanted to get in the shower with his dad for couple minutes, hoping this would be faster than a bath... well A LOVES showers so he jumped on the idea, so E said he would try it. LOL I went into the bathroom to help A out and E in and S started stripping off her diaper (all that was left after taking off her clothes that were dirty from dinner a few minutes before) She sat on her potty chair for a few minutes then it was her turn...she tried to walk in then chickened out so Matt picked her up and she screamed the whole time. Matt tried to distract her in a few ways, but she just wasn't having it.
then came pj time. I figured out the other day that there were some pjs in the boy's drawers that were way too little for them so I tried some on S tonight and they fit...well :) Unintentionally I pulled out a white shirt and blue shorts for all three of them. It was super cute to have them all matching so well. and they loved it even more than I did.
I wanted to remember these moments so thanks for letting me share them with you!

a very thoughtful boy

I have been up most of the night four of the last eight nights...with sick kids. It makes for one tired Mommy, but it looks like everyone is feeling well today and yesturday, so hopefully we are in the clear.
The point of this post isn't that I'm tired, but that my son E is super sweet. The night I was up with him (he threw up every 10-15 min all night except for one 2 hour span) I was throwing up for the umteenth time and he said "I'm sorry, Mom." and I asked why and he said "for keeping you up all night I know you are really tired." and he said this while his throwing up every drop of liquid left in his stomach. I just hugged him and told him it was worth everything to be is mom. I know it didn't sink in because he said it a few more times that night, but it was nice to see how compationate my little man is.

First Steps 1 of 3

First Steps 2 of 3

I love how she falls down. Also, her brothers love the camera and filming their sister. I try not to forget to cherish their giggles and laughs.

First Steps 3 of 3

Up Close and Personal

Up close and personal with the cast of these few shorts films, E was the Driector, A the Producer and Baby S the film's Star

Extreme Baby Climbing

This climb is so dangerous and daring that before S accends notice she blows a last kiss to her mommy. At the top of the peak, notice the strange silly billy goats.

Family Home Evening

Tonight we had an amazing FHE about Families, both physical and spiritual, given by our 5 year old E. He has really enjoyed primary from the start, but this year he is really soaking in every word of it. He is really good at remembering FHE, but I usually give the lesson, but this time he asked me to get a few things for him, a ball, a family picture, a picture of Christ and some paper dolls. (all things that were part of his lesson today) Then he gave the whole FHE all by himself. Including assigning an opening and closing prayer and song. During his lesson he told us how we were born as spirit children first and our spirits look like our physical bodies. And how we have a Heavenly Father. Then he told us how great it is to be in a family here on Earth. I could here the exact words that his teacher must have said to him the last couple of weeks just pouring out of him. I couldn't have given a better lesson. Then he took the ball and asked a question and then tossed it randomly to each member of the family and they had to answer. A had to add his two sense at the end and Baby S entertained us while dancing to "I am a Child of God" and "Jingle bells." Really we are so blessed to have the beautiful children that we have. They are great examples to us. And They help me to learn so much everyday.

2010...so far

Baby S has taken a few independent steps in the past few weeks, but this afternoon she just decided to walk across the room from her Dad to her Mom. Its so much fun to see her explore this world. Her new words are pretty, bow, shoe and osmosis (okay she hasn't said that one yet).
Matt has a new calling as primary teacher for the CTR 6/7 and loves it! He is also playing basketball with the Elders in the Stake's tournament ( I know what you're thinking...He can run? Okay so Ive put on 50 lbs since high school but truthfully I can still ball with the high schoolers that play. ) Anyway I have a lot of fun playing and I look forward to it every week. Ive realized that exercise can be such a great stress relief. Work continues to be very challenging but enjoyable. I love the fact that I work with my very favorite people in this town and no one else.
The boys love school and surprise me everyday with their grownup observations. Alex and I are looking at Schools for them next year and we are leaning toward a open classroom approach Charter school.
Alex is excited about a party that she is throwing next month and has some fun things planned.
2010 has just started but I know it will be one of our best yet. I remembered something we used to do; making dream lists and going dream building-gotta get back in that habit
