Christmas

We have had an eventful Christmas break. We left after school on the 17th and headed down to see Mom and Dad Y, and Ben and Allison's family. We packed our time there with fun family activities including a snow ball fight in 70 degree weather, looking at lights in downtown Riverside, two great dinners out (one with kids and one without), and a couple great dinners at home, decorating sugar cookies with Grammy, and lots of just hanging out and playing. Sabrina, Kevin and Kaleb also came for part of the weekend and it was so great to see them (I think my boys are still small until I see them with their other cousins and then they seem so big!)
We miss the Yrungaray side of the family so much! It is so nice to get together and have no drama and just feel loved and appreciated for who you are!
We came home on Tuesday and ran into some snow on the way so it took us several more hours than usual, but I was so grateful that Matt slowed down so much and really drove carefully! (thanks Mom Y for reminding him of how important this is ! :) )
Wednesday we tried to rest and get things finished up for Christmas, but we were so beat that there wasn't a lot done.
Christmas Eve we went over to my Dad's house for dinner and family time. Dinner was good and we had a great time with each other. We also got some fun things from my dad and got to give him some Christmas ornaments my boys made for him to start his tree.
Christmas morning we opened presents here with our kids and got to enjoy just sitting around for awhile. I also made these amazing cinnamon rolls that you leave in the fridge over night so they are super easy in the morning, plus they were super yummy. Then we headed to my mom's house for more opening of presents... my mom made each of us a snugly :) and we exchanged a few gifts, then we played rock band the rest of the evening. It is a fun game and it's fun to be silly with each other!
Today was another recovery day. we didn't do much of anything, but we will have to get back into routine next week, so that my kids will not be so whiny (it was a tragedy every few minutes this morning...it was tough to be the patient one!)
We are so grateful for the season! I am so grateful for my Savior and Redeemer. I am grateful to have the gospel in my life and to give that gift to my children. I am so grateful for ALL of our family and friends. We pray for all of you and hope you can feel our love. You bring joy to our lives that can not be expressed in words.
PS sorry for the lack of pictures, but I don't want to dig out the camera right now, I'm too comfy on the couch right now :)

Halloween

This Halloween was tons of fun. It was a beautiful warm day and evening which made it easy to have a long trick or treating and ALOT of candy. My mom made some great costumes (as always) and it was fun to celebrate a fun day with so many friends and family.

My niece (Girl E) and and Baby S were both Tinkerbell this year, my mom made them matching costumes and they thought it was so fun to match!

My brother Jon wanted to be a mummy this year, his costume was the coolest mummy I have ever seen! and baby S just loves him, even in the scary costume.

Ralleigh was some sort of Jedi, with chains across the face as a detail, he has a great imagination, that my mom is so awesome to help come to life for him. E was Optimise Prime, my mom made the body suit, but I made the boxes that made it into the transformer, I say this because I think they came out pretty cool! I made the templates for the autobot and the flames from scratch... and it turned out awesome if I do say so myself :) A was CocCoke an imaginary character that he has been talking about for a long time and my mom once again brought to life. According to his latest description it had 10 arms but 6 were enough to make him happy. It turned out way cool, and he loves it so much that he has worn it for PJs every night except for one (because it was being washed) since Halloween.
Here is a better look at all the arms on CocCoke.

All in all it was a great night, we Trick or Treated at my mom and my dad's neighborhoods and Trunk or Treated with my ward. We got to see everyone in their costumes and LOTS of treats!

End of Summer Sillies

Well we still have a couple of weeks for summer vacation as the boy's preschool doesn't start until the second week of September. So we have been trying to take advantage of the time we have left as much as we can.
Today we are doing a silly project we are still in the middle of (they are still cooling). We took a bunch of broken crayons and peeled them then broke them into pieces and melted them into new swirly ones. The full instructions are on my friend Launi's blog. We used one of those "water bottle" shaped ice cube molds and lined it with foil to make sure they would come out easily. So far they look really cool!

***update, the crayons turned out awesome, they took about 25 min in the oven, but when finished they were about the size of the large crayons, so they worked really great! One note though is to make sure you don't even get a pin whole in the aluminum foil or you will get a mess, in the mold and it stains!

My sister Jenni comes over every Wednesday night so while her hubby Braeden plays basketball with Matt. Well this always ends up being a really late night for my kiddos, cause who wants to go to bed when your craziest aunt is there to play? This will have to change a little after school starts cause none of us will be able to sleep in on Thursday mornings like we do pretty often right now. Well last week we were all playing in the living room like normal and I hear baby S gag on something (this happens often cause she likes to stick her fingers down her throat for some strange reason) This time there was something crazy in her mouth that made us all laugh so super hard! She spit it out right after these pictures (she wasn't suffocating, or anything, it was just SOOO big for her mouth!)

We play a lot of dress up at our house because we have all the old Halloween costumes that my mom has made over the years and they are REALLY cool! Well this time E used a pair of padded pants that the crotch had warn out of as a shirt... I couldn't stop laughing! (Sorry the picture isn't great, but if I go and edit all the pictures I don't get the post done... so I am posting it even though it's a little dark and blurry)

My boys used to love to wear goggles all the time, and I have some great pictures of especially E, but Baby S does NOT feel the same way about them, but I had to see, so here is a couple of pictures of my attempt at putting goggles on her. As you can see she was much happier once she got them off of her face.

One more silly thing I don't have a picture of... we haven't been camping yet this summer and we have been missing one of the things that you have to have when you go camping especially so... we have been making smores in the oven. We start with one graham cracker and pile up the mini marshmallows on each and put them under the broiler for 1 minute. (watch up close!) When browned pull them out and sprinkle them with chocolate chips and smoosh the other graham cracker on top and enjoy.

Matt took me on a great adventure and we took lots of pictures for our anniversary, but that is going to have to wait cause not it is nap time and I have to go... so until next time.

E and his kids

E has told me a few more things over the last couple of days that he will do when he goes up.

While climbing down from the table (he was for some reason standing on it)
"When I grow up it will be OK for my kids to put their feet on the table"

While E and I were cleaning up one BIG mess and E asking to do another project already and me saying not right now he said," My kids will be able to make lots of messes and I will clean them all up"

At a random time he said "my kids will get to eat LOTS of candy and get to build a tree house"
(we have been working on plans for the later.)

I love him so much! I am glad he has awhile before he really grows up, cause he is going to be one busy guy!

talking

Baby S is starting to do some really awesome things. (well new really awesome things) The last couple of days she has really started to get a move on. She rolls and scoots to get anything she wants, usually something she is not supposed to have. She has really started to try to mimic sounds that you make. She says DA DA (usually very loudly) often... and she is talking about her dad. She says mmmmm when she likes something she is eating or when she is thirsty. She claps when she likes things or when ever you say "yeah for S" And this morning Matt was making kissing noises and she made them bake before laying one on him and if your really lucky she will give you a real, rap her arms around you and squeeze, hug.
BUT the inspiration of this post is her newest trick.... She signed "Milk Please" tonight!!! We have been working with her for a few months to try to get her to ask for Mommy milk instead of crying and tonight she signed it and hollered to make sure we (Matt and I) were both watching. I'm so so so excited for her to start communicating clearly. I'm so so proud of her!!!

Mmmmm...brother!

Baby S has learned how to play from her brothers, mom and dad, and one of the silly things that we do is "eat" each other. Well she has started to do it all the time to those that she loves! So I was able to catch her "eating" A the other day and both of them laughing and laughing.

And here is her face after she was "caught"
I love my kids! And they all play together so well... most of the time :)

Another E comment

E had another "when I grow up" saying after feeding his lone gold fish named spiderman.

"When I grow up I'm going to have LOTS of fish and you can come see them if you want to."

I love this boy, and it's going to be fun to watch him grow up! :)
E has said two more things lately about what he is going to be like when he grows up.

He told Matt the other day
"when I grow up I'm going to be NICE to my kids."
This was obviously when he didn't think Matt was being nice.

And
"When I grow up my kids will get ice cream from the ice cream truck ALL the time!"
This was right after the ice cream truck disappeared around the corner as we were catching the kids so they couldn't run after it.

I don't know if anyone else will find these as funny as we do, but I want to make sure that there is a documentation of all the things he says about being a grownup so when he is one, we can show it to him. :)

Beach Bum

I know it's been a long time since we posted and I'm sure you all want pictures and I promise they will come. I take them but getting them on here just seems like so much work. BUT even without pictures I had to post a conversation I had with E yesturday.

So to preface this E and A have been talking a lot about what they are going to do when they grow up. They even argue whether or not they will let them visit at their houses. They talk about who they want to marry and a lot about where they want to live.

E: "Mom would you be sad if I lived far away from you when I grow up?"
Me: "Why would you want to live far away from me?" (he has been talking about having a house right behind me lately)
E: "So my kids can play at the beach all the time."
Me: "oh, OK."
E: "Ya, I'm going to live by Grammy, in California."

Matt and I both LOVE the beach (it's our happy place!) but I don't know how I raised a beach bum in UTAH! :)

S near her 7 month birthday

I feel bad as I think of all of the cute kid moments that I have missed with the videocamera. Seeing them grow up so fast makes me think that I should have the videocamera glued to my hand at all times. So, this afternoon after church as We were making dinner I grabbed the camera to catch S chewing on some bell pepper sticks ( S is cutting her 2nd tooth, front bottom, so she likes to have a cold whatever on her gums). Oh and by the way, poor S got bit by a mosquito a few times on the forehead yesterday during the BBQ and fireworks. Also at the end is one of my favorite clips of E when he is about 18 months-He's so cute!

Park City Fun

Over the weekend we were able to go to Park City and learn a little and have a lot of fun with Matt's company Edward Jones. Well doing some of our free time we went on an excursion to the Swaner Ecocenter. There was a festival going on and we had a great time. There were a bunch of free crafts for the kids to do (that is why I wanted to go to begin with, my kids would NEVER get board of crafts, really, NEVER!!!) We spent an hour there first then went to get Matt from the hotel after his meetings were over then had some lunch and came back. My brilliant husband brought his camera with him so we got a few shots of our budding artist.

E had a pallet of all the colors of the rainbow and he used them to fill in wherever there was white showing on the mural that kids had been working on all day. The ladies in charge were very grateful he came along because he really added alot of color to a few places that really needed it!

A had a cup with yellow and orange that he mixed together and made "peach" then found every place that he could to put it! I put it on flowers, in a fish and in a few other places, but then he had to find a place to paint a peach since that is what the name of the color was that he had made. It was so fun to watch them work and work and work on things! They really would have painted all day, but the ladies were ready to close up the booth so they had to stop after about 30 minutes of nonstop creativity.

S was such a good sport she chewed on a carrot stick most of the day and was happy to smile at everyone that told her how cute or pretty she was. We get comments on how beautiful her eyes are everywhere we go. I have to say that I am often mesmerized by them myself.

This is my favorite picture of the day! E really wanted to climb the wall but is afraid of heights. A really wanted him to succeed and stood their encouraging for a long time and then decided to give him a little more help, so he started pushing on his bum...I thought it was so sweet and E went higher with his brother's help than he had done all afternoon.

It was a great weekend filled with making new friends and learning how to do our jobs better (Financial Advisor for Matt and Spouse of a FA for me). Edward Jones really does rock! What other company encourages the spouses of their employees to be a part of their carrier. We are so blessed!

Way cool!

Now that I have a girl I am looking forward to all the girly things like extravagant hair dues, fancy clothes and nail polish (I have done this one once for Jenni's wedding). But it made me really nervous about the chemicals in it. Well a friend showed me a site that makes biodegradable, non smelly nail polish. So I want to share the info. Here is link to a sit you can win some of this awesome stuff! I can't wait to get some myself!!!

Oh and my favorite colors are

A good morning

This morning I went and worked out with a swim team. I kept up pretty good and learned a lot from the coaches and other swimmers. And not to mention a great workout. Not to mention coming home hungry and ready for a nap. I wore goggles for the first time for real too. I am going to be doing this twice a week for the rest of the summer, so that I can learn how to swim properly, and I am off to a good start.

Oh did I mention that the next oldest person on the team was 13 years old...yes I was more than double the age of everyone there. And 8 years older than oldest coach (which just happen to be my sister).
This is going to be a fun summer (if I don't swallow too much water!)

The power of the internet

I have a good friend who had a tragic thing happen a couple of months ago...she lost her baby at 37 weeks to a cord accident...I heart aches for her still, but she is trying to turn her tragedy into a positive for others. She has set up a website to to help a friend of hers out and I would love to have all of you go there and read the story. It helps me to be VERY grateful for my 3 beautiful babies that I have had so easily.

I know that if we spread the word through our blogs we can really make a difference for this family!

pictures and stories

I owe everyone some pictures after almost a whole month without them. I have some fun stories that go along with them... we will see how far I can get today...with the crazy kiddos that I have.

So first of all the other day E got out a banana a butter knife and a cutting board. I'm sure you can add it up, when I asked him what he was doing he said "I'm being a chef" Well he ended up making Banana Pie. Here is his recipe as far as I can remember (I wrote down the exact recipe, but the notebook it was in has disappeared, so here is my best remembrance)
One banana cut up
add 1 tsp water, stir
add 1 ice cube, stir
add juice of half of a lemon, stir
add 1tsp salt, stir (yes there was lots of stirring going on)
add 3 squirts of whipped topping (we had some in a can), stir
add 1 tsp powder sugar, mash bananas
add 2tsp brown sugar, stir
chill for 10 min
get out of the fridge add 3 mounds of butter (I liked that measurement!), stir
chill for 2 more minutes
add the juice from the other half of the lemon, stir
pour into a pie tin and bake for 16 min in a "hot" oven
(it really baked for like 35, cause we kept taking it out and he said it wasn't done yet)
Then chill over night
add some wiped topping on top

Here is what the finished pie looked like, and the proud boy of his first ever recipe.

Here is his reaction when he tasted it...LOL

We were all brave and tasted it, since everything he added was "edible" but to say the least it wasn't very appetizing!

Finally

I got to see baby S roll over for the first time yesterday, and she did it from her back to stomach then stomach to back to get a toy (can you say trouble!) Anyway it was fun for me to see her make this milestone. She did it several more times today... she gets off her stomach as fast as she can, she really hates being on her tummy right now!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

she did it AGAIN!

My sister Jenni and my little brother Jon were here this afternoon to play with the kids. I had to leave to take care of A for a minute and while I was gone she roller from her tummy to her back with ease. It's no fair! oh well maybe one day :{

my little stinker

My beautiful baby girl has been very close to rolling over for some time now (she just can't get over that arm). We have been cheering her on and watching her very closely making sure that we do not miss this very important moment. Well we did...I was sitting on the floor with her just talking while my boys took a bath. I needed to go check on them so I left her laying on her back in the middle of the room and when I came back she was on her tummy eating her blanket like a puppy. I can't believe she did it in the only moment she has been left alone on the floor ever. Hopefully we will have a repeat show later tonight for all of us to see. We love you baby S.

my boy and his ring

A good friends little boy is in love with his CTR (choose the right) ring. She blogged about an inspiring event that happened to them with a their boy and his ring. Keeping that in mind here is what happened with my boy (A) and his ring.
My boys came down with strep so they had very little energy and wanted to eat very little for a few days. Then came yesterday. I don't think I have EVER seen them this hyper! They woke up being crazy they wanted to eat way more and they were so so so loud (a good sign that they no longer had a sore throat). When nap time came around (yes they both take naps still... they need them) they were still very hyper, but grouchy from also being worn out. I was reading for an extra long time trying to help them calm down when all of the sudden A started to throw up everywhere. He had been throwing up with his fever but that was long gone, so I was very confused until I looked at the puddle he had just made on his sheets and there was his CTR ring in the middle of the mess. Yes my child almost swallowed his pointy, sharp ring. Luckily he didn't get it down his throat too far... it would have really hurt coming up and I'm so glad he didn't swallow it cause those would have been funny but expensive X-rays...
So after a month of having a practical joke up as my last post this is what it took for me to get back to my blog and post again... shame on me.
PS after we got him cleaned up they both went right down for there nap :)

a BIG suprise!

Ok so all of you know that we got pregnant with A right after E (13 months apart is pretty close!) Well we are REALLY going to top ourselves now! I haven't been feeling very well for awhile and I just thought it was a touch of the flu, but it just wouldn't go away so I took the old pee on a stick test... it came back positive, can you beleive it, again, you would think we would have learned how this all works, but apparently not and in a VERY big way! We went to the Dr yesturday (not knowing when we had gotten prego, without even one period between Baby S and this suprise) Well we got a BIG BIG BIG suprise we are having TRIPLETS!!!! They measured at about 9 weeks, so we are due in mid November (more fall babies!) I know it is really early to be telling everyone, but this is just not something we could keep a secret, especially because I will be showing in no time!

Here is an ultrasound picture, it was a really great one for this far along!

Today was so fun... if you haven't got it yet, this post was a joke! I hope every one had a great day! I had many fun phone calls from a lot of you, and a lot of great comments and emails. I have to say it was sure fun! Thanks for playing along with us! We love you all!!!!

Last post for today

The last/first post you will read is just some random pictures that I thought were amazing or funny.

I just thought this picture was amazing... It really shows how beautiful our little girl is! She has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen and they don't seem to be going anywhere. She is so happy and spreads it where ever she goes. We get stopped all the time so that people can tell us how beautiful she is. (I know it's a baby thing, but I would like to think it happens to us more than the average :) )

This picture is a funny story... So when Jenni and Braeden opened their wedding presents they let my boys help them. There was one present my boys particularly loved because it had fun movies and all sorts of candy... plus it came in a cool monster bag. This green thing on E's head is the tag from that bag.... it is very fuzzy so he thought it would make a great pillow, so on his way to bed he taped it to his head. I thought is was just too funny not to photo! He is so creative and funny.

One day Baby S was just going crazy in her bassinet (the one that all the Yrungaray babies have slept in) The picture is the best quality, but it captures how silly she was being at that moment. She loves to watch people and then entertain them, especially if they are acting sad or upset at all.

Matt's b-day

Matt's 30th birthday was a fun day for all of us! We let him sleep in and made him pancakes with strawberries for his breakfast in bed. Then we let him go to the gym and later that afternoon we took him to see Inkheart. It was a fun movie for the whole family. After the movie we tried a new Chinese restaurant for take out. We had dinner at home as a family and then we had a strawberry cheesecake trifle for dessert. We lit all 30 candles and after Matt blew them out we were afraid that our over sensitive spoke detector would go off (we spent the next 5 minutes opening windows and fanning the detector) I couldn't help taking a picture of all the candles and Matt with his beautiful babies on his special day.

St. Patrick's day was fun. We ate a lot of green food and took a walk to the library.

Baby S joined in the fun with her rainbow blanket... she didn't really get the rest of the fun.

I was pretty proud of the shamrock pancakes that I made along with green eggs and green milk for breakfast.

We will have to write an invitation to the lepercons to come visit our house next year like they did at Zach's this year.
(Side note A has 5 cups because he has 4 of them that he got full of water by himself and the 5th is full of green milk. He is a very interesting child!)

a few weeks

We seemed to get a present from Jenni's wedding too... we all got an awful cold from someone :( It took a couple of WEEKS to get over it but during that time there was a lot of sleeping/resting that happened.

A fort

So I am going to go in some sort of order here. We have been up to a lot lately so we just haven't had time to post much of anything especially pictures so I am going to post some of the ones that I took just because I thought they would be good blog posts and maybe someday I will get to scrap book them.

One day the boys were so cute playing house. We built a fort with the pink sheet and chairs

then we put their table and little chairs inside so they would have a kitchen .
They did watch a movie while inside which was so much more fun because of the fort

and then they had to put their dollies to bed.

Baby S sat there and watched her brothers in awe and looked very confused at everything looking very pink. It was a fun afternoon.
